Eye Test and Dinner Deal

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

Yes, it is back!

The third installment of the yet to be copied “Eye Test and Dinner Deal” returns to Stones Corner Eyewear and I assure you it is by popular demand. This year however there is a slight twist in the fact that you need to answer a short quiz to be eligible to enter. There are other eligibility criteria that I will list below:

  • You can be either a new or existing patient
  • You like the company of your friendly optometrist

Simple really.

To also clarify some confusion that arose following last year’s competition, the winner will receive a free, dine-in meal at the Bent Elbow which is conveniently located next door to the practice. The winner will have the company of their friendly optometrist, who has no problem with the winner bringing a friend (or spouse/partner) should that be deemed to be less daunting. Should the winner bring a partner who is also a patient of Stones Corner Eyewear, then that partner is more than likely to also have their dinner paid for.

The dinner is to take place after the winners next eye test and as a result will be the last appointment of the day on a Wed, Thur or Friday evening. The dinner must be taken before Xmas this year.

Now for the quiz.

Below are 4 questions that are either true or false. We need you to let us know what percentage of the answers are true. For example, 100%, 75%, 50% etc.

  • Question 1          Simon has had his practice in Stones Corner for 15 years
  • Question 2          Simon has 3 staff members that work with him in 2016 and those lovely ladies are Sophia, Shaunesy and Hannah.
  • Question 3          The 2011 floods, although coming close to the back steps of the practice and having Simon and his staff and family remove all his consulting equipment, DID NOT result in tens of thousands of dollars damage.
  • Question 4          Until proven otherwise, the “Stones Corner Eyewear, Eye Test and Dinner Deal” is Simon’s favourite promotional activity of the year.

Please send your answer (0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%) to simon@sc-optom.com with the subject of Eye Test and Dinner Deal. Please do not forget to also put your name as well.

All winning entries then go into the draw to win this great prize. Please act fast as the prize will be drawn on the 5th October.

15 Year later……..

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

Can you remember what you were doing when the Twin Towers were attacked?? As a young optometrist with a steely resolve to open my practice in Stones Corner, I recall exactly where I was. After being up most of the night, glued to the television, I remember buying a newspaper across the road and thinking the world was about to descend into absolute chaos.

All this and facing up to my 5th day after opening the doors to Simon Clark Optometrist, with the appointment book telling me I had 2 patients booked in to see me…..

15 years later and I still love walking through the same door and thankfully more than 2 people tend to follow me in on any given day. The cranes in Stones Corner point to a more optimistic outlook than ever before, and the variety of people that I have the pleasure to look after each day, make me more comfortable than ever with where the practice is heading.

With the adventure of future study around the corner, I am excited about my career in optometry as much as I ever have been, despite the challenges that will always be there.

I want to thank all of you for your loyal support over the past 15 years and I genuinely appreciate the encouragement that I receive from you on a daily basis.

Blesphasteam Goggles

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

We now have access to a very successful approach to managing blepharitis, which is a condition that affects the eye-lids.  Blepharitis is a very common condition that causes the glands along the eye-lids to become blocked and dysfunctional.  The goggles provide heat to these glands and melts the blockages, causing the oils and lipids to again be secreted properly.

Symptoms of blepharitis include irritated, dry eyes and often burning and excess watering of the eyes.  The treatment usually takes 20-30 minutes.  Contact us if you have any questions or want to book in for a treatment.
